St. Charles - 2 oz. Gin, fresh lime juice, a few dashes of peychaud’s bitters, lime peel and Tonic water. Added a couple drops of turbinado simple syrup. Very refreshing, not too bitter or sweet. (Taken with instagram)

While Only God Forgives isn’t a sequel to Drive, “it feels like a shared universe. There are a few Drive touchstones in the footage: long tracking shots, liberal use of neon lighting (in this case purple and green) and a silent, but violent Ryan Gosling.” Refn himself described the project as a thriller produced as a Western set in the Far East, with a modern cowboy hero.

Can’t wait.

For all my atheist friends and/or followers. One thing I don’t get, per my own ignorance, is how even the first spark came out of nothing to create whatever it is existence is now? How does something come from absolutely nothing to create things like the Big Bang?

Anyone care to educate me on that in a way I can understand?

Technically it’s not “something” coming from “nothing” because the big bang came from a singularity which is “something.” To ask what came “before” that is more difficult since time didn’t exist until the big bang so technically nothing could come “before.”

The answer lies in a whole lot of very complicated physics and theories like chaotic inflation, big crunch, multiverses, etc. which requires a lot of ideas that the human brain has a really, really hard time comprehending. For me, and most other atheists, that’s still easier to deal with than the idea of a supernatural being flipping a cosmic light switch. That doesn’t even really answer the question because if that logic demands that everything requires a creator then you must account for what created the creator.

If I see one more trailer for Prometheus I’m going to scream. I don’t need to see the whole film to want to see any film. I remember the trailer for the original Alien was just the fucking egg, the title and the words In space no one can hear you scream.” and I was SOLD. These days people want to spoil everything before we even get to the theater.

Okay, rant done.

And get off my lawn.
